Wicklow celebrates Three Centuries of History in Song this Summer. This Gathering event provides an opportunity to reflect on the county’s significant role in Ireland’s story, being told through Thomas Moores’(1779-1852) Irish Melodies. The Recital also features music celebrating Wicklow born Charles Stewart Parnell(1846-1891), the counties 19th Century Mining Heritage with a selection of songs by Enniskerry native, Ina Boyle(1889-1967), one of Ireland’s most prolific composers in the 20th Century. Jigs, reels and hornpipes will showcase Wicklow’s traditional music heritage. The Venue, Kilruddery, has featured in numerous movies.
