Wicklow celebrates Three Centuries of History in Song this Summer. This Gathering event provides an opportunity to reflect on the county’s significant role in Ireland’s story, being told through Thomas Moores’(1779-1852) Irish Melodies. The Recital also features music celebrating Wicklow born Charles Stewart Parnell(1846-1891), the counties 19th Century Mining Heritage with a selection of songs by Enniskerry native, Ina Boyle(1889-1967), one of Ireland’s most prolific composers in the 20th Century. Jigs, reels and hornpipes will showcase Wicklow’s traditional music heritage. The Venue, Kilruddery, has featured in numerous movies. read more

The IABN Supports the Southern CA. 1916 Easter Commemoration – 97th Anniversary


On March 30th, the Michael J. Farrell Sr. Division #2 and the IABN’s own Jerry O’Keefe will hold the AOH 1916 Easter Commemoration at 12:00 Noon sharp at the VFW 805 Sycamore Street in Anaheim. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated. If you are attending, please RSVP. If you anyone who would like to attend, please forward this invitation.

David McKenna, AOH Long Beach Division Vice-President will be the keynote speaker. Master of Ceremonies will be Daniel Murphy of Cork City, Ireland. Also in the program are retired Police Chief Jerry O’Keefe, who will read the Proclamation of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Ireland, 1916. Tim Weston will read the Oration of Padraig Pearse at the Graveside of O’Donovan Rossa. Eamonn Knuff will be the musical entertainment, and Terry McCarthy will grace the day and the event with his bagpipes. read more
